Samsung Washer LE or LC Code: Water Level or Leak
Updated
Short answer
What LE, LC (1E, 1C) means
In Samsung's words, condensed: moisture is detected somewhere it does not belong, or there is an issue with the sensor itself (Samsung).
What Samsung says to try
- Look for evidence of a leak, even a small one.
- Check that the supply hoses and drain hose behind the washer are not kinked. Do not remove the screw that holds the drain hose to the washer.
- Run an empty cycle with no detergent or softener and watch for suds. If suds appear, too much or non-HE detergent was used; keep running empty cycles until there are none.
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before reaching into any part of it. Codes and steps vary by model, so check your manual too.
If the code comes back
If no suds appear and the code continues, Samsung says to request service. A door seal or gasket runs $120 to $500; hose and other common repairs $75 to $200. (Angi, washing machine repair cost (updated Jul 31, 2026))
