ComEd and Nicor Gas Appliance Rebates in 2026: What Is Actually Offered

Updated

Short answer

ComEd's 2026 appliance page lists $40 off an ENERGY STAR clothes washer or electric dryer, $200 off a heat pump dryer, $100 off select induction cooktops and ranges, and $750 on a heat pump water heater. Nicor Gas's 2026 rebates focus on furnaces, insulation and thermostats. We could not confirm a ComEd fridge recycling pickup on its 2026 pages.

Refrigerator recycling

Earlier ComEd programs picked up working old refrigerators and freezers (a 2012 description is in the sources below). On 2026-09-30, the program page did not load and ComEd's appliance rebate list did not include it, so we could not confirm it is running. Check with ComEd before counting on it.

Nicor Gas, 2026

Nicor Gas says its current rebate offers cover qualifying purchases and installations between January 1 and December 31, 2026 (Nicor Gas), and its rebate page lists upgrades such as insulation, smart thermostats and high-efficiency furnaces.

Tell us the appliance, the brand, the model number and what it is doing. A local technician calls back with a time and a price before any work starts.
